What is Drupal?
Drupal is an open source Content Management System (CMS), used by tens of thousands of companies and organizations and powered by a community of hundreds of thousands of users across the world.
Drupal can be customized to look and behave in almost any way imaginable and there are over 10,000 free Drupal modules (features) available. Everything from email newsletter systems and forums to facebook integration and SMS notifications, are all available for use out of the box without any custom programming required.
Why should I use Drupal on my project?
There's hundreds of reasons to use Drupal on your project, here's just a few highlights.
- When you choose Drupal, you're joining a community of hundreds of thousands of people across the world. Some of the largest companies and government organizations in the world use Drupal. Including Nokia, Sony Music, Amnesty International, Greenpeace, Warner Bros, AOL, Fedex, the U.S Government, the Australian Prime Minister, the New Zealand government and Harvard University.
- Drupal is an open source WCMS. That means Drupal is free - there's no license cost. Drupal consultancies (like themesandmodules.com) make money by providing customization, support and other professional services, instead of selling license fees.
- Drupal provides common website features like customer login areas out-of-the-box. There's thousands of free open source modules ("features") that can quickly be installed and customized on your website. This means you can focus your time and money on generating a business return, not on managing complex programming projects.
- Because there are thousands of features already built by the community, you save money and can reallocate budget from programming and development to marketing.
- A Drupal website is easy to use and maintain. Without technical skills, a person using Drupal is able to add and update information using a simple browser based interface.
- It's easy to integrate Drupal with other software - like internal product databases and accounting systems.
Why should I choose you for our project?
We have over 10 collective years experience working with small and large businesses. We've worked with one man businesses up to exchange listed, multinational companies.
Before specializing in Drupal, we built up many years experience across various fields in IT, so although we are Drupal specialists, we have a breadth of experience that gives us significant advantage managing projects. We recognize that project success is almost always determined very early in a project, by spending enough time on gathering and prioritizing project objectives, and by the setting of realistic budgets and timelines.
Due to the breadth of our experience, we're also able to work well across multiple technical and business teams in complex organizations.
How we work with our customers
For projects in the planning stage, we provide expert technical advisory, helping to save development cost and reduce project risk. We can provide expert evaluations for between US$500 and US$5,000, depending on the level and type of engagement you want. We can work with you to establish project feasibility, or we can provide strategic, external oversight throughout the duration of a project.
If a project has already been approved, we can work with you to create a set of technical specifications that can be used by a development team to create the end product. Depending on the complexity of the project, we can usually deliver a technical specifications document for between US$1,000 and $3,000.
We're also expert, hands-on Drupal programmers. Once a technical specification is available, we can turn it into a final, perfectly functioning Drupal system. Coding Drupal is a speciality - we know how to do it right. Using us, you'll get best practice solutions.
After project completion, we'll provide technical support via an SLA. We have three standard SLA's but we can also tailor one to suit your needs exactly if it's beneficial to you.
